The Cambodian lineage is well-established in the community as a reliable, resilient genetic base, and the albino mutation that emerged from it turned out to be genuinely rare. Most strains marketed as "albino" are actually leucistic, meaning they lack pigment in the fruiting body but still produce pigmented spores. Avery Albino produces completely transparent spores, confirming true genetic albinism. That distinction matters both genetically and visually.

The morphology is immediately recognizable: thick stems topped with bulbous white caps, all wrapped in that pristine all-white appearance. These aren't wispy or fragile specimens. Avery Albino grows dense and solid, with a chunky build that photographs beautifully and dries to a striking pale appearance. Growing Avery Albino: What to Expect

Avery Albino grows well on standard cubensis substrates. CVG bulk, grain to bulk, and BRF cakes all produce good results. Expect moderate colonization speed — albino genetics typically run slower than their pigmented counterparts, so patience pays off here. The mycelium is healthy and consistent, just not as aggressive as strains like Squat Mac or natalensis. Fruit at 74 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit with 85 to 95 percent relative humidity and good fresh air exchange. Provide indirect light on a 12/12 cycle. Because the spores are completely clear, you won't see the dark spore drop that signals overdue harvest on pigmented strains, so watch veil development closely. One practical note on albino cultivation: the all-white mycelium and all-white fruiting bodies can make it slightly harder to spot early contamination by visual inspection alone, since there's no pigment contrast to highlight intruders.
